We only cover books here at IGN once in a while, but the name Greg Weisman is certainly worthy of such a special occasion. A rightfully beloved figure to animation fans, Weisman is best known for his series Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Young Justice, among his many impressive credits, and he’s currently hard at work on Star Wars Rebels, the new animated series he is executive producing, alongside Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past).
In the midst of all of that, Weisman has released his first book, Rain of the Ghosts. Don’t let the “Young Adult” label scare you off - like Weisman’s previous work, Rain of the Ghosts is truly accessible for all ages, telling an engaging, intriguing story about a 13-year old girl, Rain, who begins to see the spirits of the dead around her, in the wake of a loss in her own life. These new gifts are related to an armband she has been given, showing two golden snakes intertwined, and set into motion a big adventure for Rain, her friend Charlie and a ghostly companion only Rain can interact with.
