In a blog post, Twitch VP of Marketing and Communications, Matthew DiPietro revealed that Twitch ranks fourth in Peak US Internet Traffic, holding onto 1.8% of US traffic. The infographic places them below Netflix, Google and Apple, and above companies including Facebook, Valve and Amazon.
DiPietro sys that they are working to expand their infrastructure to better handle the increased traffic.
"We are working overtime to scale our infrastructure to keep pace with the growth of the community. That’s no small task. Thanks to all of you, and your voracious appetite for gaming video, we’re really playing in the big leagues, here. And we mean to step up."
Twitch is available for viewing on a plethora of gaming platforms including the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, which most likely contributes to the amount of traffic the website receives.
