Cap may be as American as apple pie and baseball, but that doesn't mean his pop culture interests don't extend overseas.
There's an early scene in The Winter Soldier where we see Captain America's list of important cultural touchstones he's missed since his World War II deep freeze.

He needs to catch up on his classic television, history, music and try some foreign cuisine. Overall, it's an amusing and straightforward to-do list. However, despite the worldwide proliferation of American culture, the filmmakers seem to have wanted to make Cap's interests relevant to people living outside the US, as well.
