Amazon Games Hires Portal, Far Cry 2 Designers IGN All

Hot on the heels of Amazon's reveal of the Fire TV console, the online giant has bolstered its roster with a pair of award-winning game designers.


Kotaku has learned that Far Cry 2 designer Clint Hocking and Portal designer Kim Swift have both joined Amazon Game Studios. Aside from helping create Portal, Swift also worked at Airtight Games on Quantum Conundrum and Soul Fjord. Hocking, meanwhile, left Ubisoft in 2010 and spent the past four years at LucasArts and Valve.


This isn't the first gaming acquisition of the year for Amazon. Back in February, Amazon acquired Double Helix Games, the studio behind Killer Instinct for Xbox One and the Strider reboot.
