With the recent shipping woes this series has experienced, one can hardly blame DC for commissioning a fill-in issue from a different creative team to help the main team get back on track. For this standalone issue, writer Jeff Lemire and artists Karl Kerschl and Scott Hepburn have been tapped to craft a tale where Superman teams up with Ray Palmer to save Batman's brain. It's a little like a Magic School Bus episode with a heavy dose of the 1980s Sword of the Atom comic thrown in. And Batman plays the part of that eternal curmudgeon Arnold.
