Comedy Central will replace The Colbert Report with a new half-hour comedy/talk show called The Minority Report, hosted by The Daily Show’s Larry Wilmore.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Minority Report will fill the void left in Comedy Central’s 11:30 pm time slot, after Stephen Colbert leaves the network to replace David Letterman on The Late Show, at the end of this year.
As a writer-actor, Wilmore has been the "Senior Black Correspondent" on The Daily Show since 2006. The comedian also created The Bernie Mac Show and The PJs. His sitcom Black-ish, starring Anthony Anderson, was picked up by ABC this week, and Wilmore was to serve as sbowrunner. However, he now will likely only work on that series until his Minority Report gig begins.
