Lena Headey will star in a movie adaptation of horror legend Clive Barker’s short story Jacqueline Ess: Her Will and Testament. Barker’s Seraphim Films will produce along with Raven Banner Entertainment. Barker himself is one of the executive producers.
Per Variety, Headey plays the title character, “a woman who, in her thirst for change, achieves the ability to transform people’s bodies at will.” The original short story appeared in a volume of Barker’s horror anthology Books of Blood. Previous films based on Books of Blood short stories include Candyman, Lord of Illusions, Quicksilver Highway, The Midnight Meat Train, The Book of Blood, and Dread.
