Screendaily is reporting that LEGO Movie's Bad Cop/Good Cop, Liam Neeson, has signed up for A Monster Calls - a new fantasy film from Orphanage director J.A. Bayona.
A Monster Calls comes from a YA short story by Patrick Ness (who will also write the screenplay) about a bond that develops between a young boy and a beast that visits him in nightmares. Neeson, who is playing the monster, joins the already-cast Felicity Jones (Amazing Spider-Man 2) on the project.
A brief synopsis from Screendaily: "Thirteen-year-old Conor O’Malley is troubled by his mother’s declining health, school bullies and the yew tree in his backyard that transforms at night into a monster that narrates strange stories. Over time what the terrifying visitor tells the boy enables him to come to terms with life’s truths."
