Revolution has come to an end. NBC have cancelled the series, from executive producers J.J. Abrams, Eric Kripke and Jon Favreau, and it will not be back for a third season.
The series had debuted to very strong ratings in its first season, but lost steam as it progressed. A move to Wednesdays this season, away from its great lead-in on Monday, The Voice, unfortunately proved the show hadn't developed a very large fanbase of its own.
Revolution came into the 2012-2013 season with a lot of high expectations, given who was producing it, but then received a lot of criticisms throughout its first season. I was among those who felt it has greatly improved in Season 3, becoming a much better-paced, fun and witty show, with more likable characters. Unfortunately though, the viewership never rebounded, leading to it coming to an end.
