Writer and director Kevin Smith will be in the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, but he won't be voicing a character from the DC or LEGO universe. Instead, Kevin Smith will be Kevin Smith: Mini Figure.
Smith will be on the LEGO Batman panel at the upcoming New York City Comicon on October 11 to talk about his role in the game, among other LEGO Batman topics.
If you are into comics culture at all, you're probably familiar with Smith, who has lent his writing talents to such series as Marvel's Daredevil and Spiderman comics, as well as DC properties like Green Arrow and a Batman.
It seems only natural, then, that the producer of Comic Book Men would appear in a comic book themed game. Given that his initial thrust into the spotlight was through his comedic films, a game series that combines both comedy and comics, along with a healthy dose of fan service for a myriad of different fandoms, the LEGO Batman series is a good fit.
