At some point, both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will likely slim down. Looking at the last generation of hardware, game consoles scale into smaller form factors as their longevity extends, and according to a report from Eurogamer, chip manufacturer AMD may have already taken the first steps for Xbox One.
Daniel McConnell, AMD's senior manager of system-on-a-chip design, had previously posted on his LinkedIn profile that he "successfully planned and executed the first APU for Microsoft’s XBOX One Game Console in 28nm technology and a cost-reduced derivative in 20nm technology." The entry containing the 20nm processor has since been removed from McConnell's profile.
