It’s better to look at this issue as a mere AXIS prologue and not the series finale to one of Marvel’s most consistently excellent ongoing books. Uncanny Avengers is going on hiatus for the duration of AXIS and will likely be relaunched/replaced after that event is over. This issue does little to tie up loose ends. Its focal character isn’t even a series regular. But Rick Remender provides enough great character work in this issue to offset those flaws.
