Why hasn't The Last Starfighter been remade yet for modern audiences? Apparently, even Hollywood great Steven Spielberg has had trouble acquiring the rights to do so.
In a Twitter conversation amongst several filmmakers and writers spotted by Slash Film, it was revealed that figures such as Spielberg, Gary Whitta, and Seth Rogen were unsuccessful in getting the remake rights the 1980s flick.
