Sir Richard Branson says the fatal crash of SpaceShipTwo won't stop Virgin Galactic from pursuing commercial space flights.
The space-plane “suffered a serious anomaly” and crashed in the Mojave Desert shortly after separating from its launcher craft, WhiteKnightTwo, killing Scaled Composites' pilot Michael Alsbury and injuring pilot Peter Siebold.
“All our thoughts are with the families of everyone affected by this tragic event, and we are doing everything we can to support them,” read a blog post from Virgin Group founder Richard Branson. “Space is hard - but worth it. We will persevere and move forward together.”
