Microsoft rolled out an update today that makes Cortana available, in limited alpha form, in four European countries.
Windows Phone Preview users in France, Germany, Italy and Spain have access to the alpha, which now supports the additional languages. Although some features of the beta version are present in the new update, others "are missing" or will be added soon, according to Microsoft's Marcus Ash.
Flight tracking, for instance, is not available in the new alpha form, and transit data is limited to larger cities in the added regions, while more data will be added later. Lastly, reference data is missing as well, so anyone asking Cortana how tall Mount Everest is will have to wait. Microsoft also released new images showing the program's new language sets, all of which can be viewed on Microsoft's blog.
