Here's some Hannibal news that may come as a bit of a surprise. Michael Pitt, who played Season 2's sicko one-percenter Mason Verger, has opted not to return to the series.

The Verger character is still a part of Season 3, as always intended, but the role has been recast. TVLine is reporting that The River's Joe Anderson will be playing the Verger role now.
