Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. - 1952 #1 Review IGN All

To echo what editor Scott Allie says in the letter column of this issue, it's surprising that it's taken this long for a comic like Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. to come along. The various Hellboy comics have jumped all over the timeline, spanning the early, post-WWII days of the B.P.R.D. to current, 21st Century struggles. But in all that time, we've seen surprisingly little of a young Hellboy learning the ropes and becoming the hardened investigator of the supernatural he already was in stories like Hellboy: The Crooked Man. That's where Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. comes in. This mini-series chronicles Hellboy's very first mission in a time where he's more or less an adult physically but still very naive about the wider world. While issue #1 is a pretty slow start for the series, it has a lot to offer Hellboy lovers.
