Project Root: Old-School Twin-Stick Shooting IGN All

While the ship I piloted in Project Root was more hovercraft than helicopter, I was nevertheless immediately reminded of EA's classic “Strike” series, though with a ton more shooting and absolutely no winching. But whereas those classic chopper games gave you limited ammo and a bit of variety in objectives, Project Root seems to be all about blowing things up. In his quest to topple the evil Prometheus Corporation, ace pilot Lance Rockport has unlimited air and ground missiles at his disposal (each fired at enemies on different planes using different buttons).


And they're needed, since enemies will come from all directions in each of Project Root's eight wide-open stages. Furthering the Strike resemblance, those stages will include a lush jungle, a dangerous desert, an arctic environment, and some urban battlegrounds.
