Sleepy Hollow: Fall Finale Review IGN All

Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow.


Man, it sure is nice to have John Noble to rely on. Even with all the seeds that have been planted leading up to the climactic moment of “The Akeda” it still could have felt like too big a leap for the character to take, too sudden. But because the extraordinary Noble has shown us the subtle cracks in Henry’s worldview over the last several weeks, his defiance here might be shocking but it’s not unbelievable.


Sleepy Hollow continues to impress with how well it has set up its characters and their relationships to one another. Hours like “Akeda” provide the plot payoff, but because the journey to get to these climactic episodes is so enjoyable, we care even more. We’re able to see both Abbie and Ichabod’s side of whether they should kill Henry or not and sympathize with both. While that’s going on we’re also keenly aware of the wonderful partnership they’ve established over the past year and how devastating it would be for both of them if it were to broken.
