S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Dev Re-Opens its Doors IGN All

The previously-shuttered GSC Game World has re-opened and is already targeting its first project.


Developer of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, GSC Game World shut down in 2011 due to "obstacles" the team feared they wouldn't overcome. The company's website was recently updated, and they've already begun to discuss the format of their next game.


According to representative Valentine Yeltyshev, GSC Game World is aiming to create a full game release rather than attempt a free-to-play model.


"The market we're in is quite old fashioned, they're not 16 year olds, they're 25-40 years old," Yeltyshev told GamesIndustry. "We don't think free-to-play is the right model for the game we want to make. So we're making an old-fashioned, full price game, we think our audience will be happy about that."
