Timothy Omundson's King Richard is full of helpful advice. As he notes in this episode, don't start marriage with kidnapping. The second episode of Galavant shows more of Richard and Madalena's relationship, and it isn't pretty. She's cold, snobby, and manipulative. Mallory Jensen excels at making Madalena seem more awful than the evil king, and because we saw her ditch Galavant and choose fame and fortune (one of the first happy twists in Galavant), it's hard to sympathize with her. Richard doesn't necessarily deserve kindness from her, but she's being so cruel I feel a tiny bit sorry for her kidnapper. Yeah, she's that bad.
