HBO and IMAX have a deal to bring Game of Thrones to theaters, making it the first TV show to appear on IMAX screens.
The final two episodes of Game of Thrones: Season 4 and an exclusive trailer for Season 5 will run from January 23-29 in 150 U.S. theaters, according to Variety. Ticket pricing and availability will be revealed on the IMAX website in the coming weeks.
This is another step in IMAX’s plan to expand beyond traditional Hollywood fare. Last September, IMAX signed a deal with Netflix to show Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Green Legend in IMAX theaters when it releases on August 28, 2015.
