Graphic Novel Review: Starlight IGN All

As far as creator owned books go, few can match the sheer volume and success of writer Mark Millar. The mastermind behind popular comic and cinematic properties such as Kick-Ass and Wanted (as well as the upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service), Millar has made a name for himself crafting explosive reads driven by high octane action, aggressive violence and tights-on-tights melees. It's somewhat surprising then that Starlight is none of these things. In fact, the latest from Millar and collaborator Goran Parlov is perhaps the most un-Millar like read of all. It's sentimental and honest, romantic and sincere, completely unabashed in its nostalgic reverence for old fashioned pulp. In doing something different, Millar has created one of his best books yet.
