Japanese consumers spent less on console hardware and software in 2014 than in any year within the past 24 years, according to sales data released by Famitsu.
The figures show that total expenditure for 2014 reached 369 billion yen, consisting of 142.15 billion yen in hardware and 226.4 billion yen in software. The total is a 10 percent decrease over last year and a low not recorded since 1990’s estimated sales of 360 billion yen. NeoGaf user Road compiled the data into a chart below.
