LG Committed to OLEDs in 2015, Seven Models Coming This Year IGN All

At the LG CES conference, the company has reaffirmed its commitment to OLED TVs in 2015, and is spending some $6 million to expand production.


LG’s goal for the next year through to 2016 is to ship 1 million units into homes, which it hopes to accomplish through the launch of seven different 4K OLEDs – of which – spans across 77-inch, 65-inch, and 55-inch models.


LG pitches its new line of OLEDs as “the first to embody all attributes,” including one with a “flexible” screen which can switch between curved and flat mode at the press of a button, along with “perfect black.”


As for general updates on 4K and its TV lineup, LG says it'll also be offering 34 models of 4K TVs overall, with some featuring their announced quantum dot technology, as well as webOS 2.0 and more powerful processors in their smart TVs. The latter will feature high-dynamic resolution streaming from Netflix.
