There isn't much precedent for Evolve, Turtle Rock Studios' upcoming multiplayer game. It's an competitive game that pits one monster against four hunters, and it requires a lot of tweaking to work.
But after four years of development, one delay, a closed alpha, and an open beta, Turtle Rock went in-depth with IGN to explore the process of finding balance.
The "Big Alpha" and open beta played a pivotal part in shaping Evolve. Not only did they allow for player feedback and extensive playtesting on a large scale, but also provided Turtle Rock with an expansive array of revealing statistics, many of which can be seen in the infographic below.
