Last night's Season 5 finale of The Walking Dead was the show's highest-rated finale of all time, delivering 15.8 million viewers and 10.4 million adults aged 18-49.
With time-shifted playback added in, the special 90-minute finale is expected to exceed 20 million viewers and 11 million adults in the 18-49 demographic.
As a whole, live/same day viewing numbers for episodes in Season 5 averaged 14.4 million and 9.4 million adults 18-49. The latter represents a 9% increase compared to last season. Additionally, The Walking Dead's fifth season achieved something no other cable series has ever accomplished, as each episode in Season 5 ranked in the top 50 telecasts across all of television in this key demographic.
