Today, Google is launching a new Android Wear update that brings its functionality closer to that of the Apple Watch.
According to a post on the Google Blog, the Android Wear will be getting Wi-Fi support. The watch will also be getting "always-on apps" in addition to its always-on screen.
You no longer need to use your hands to check your notifications, as flicking your wrist scrolls through the stream. Additionally, you'll now be able to view your contacts with one tap from the watch face.
There is also functionality to recognise emojis that you draw on the screen, which can then be sent via message or text to your friends.
