In a densely worded filing on the US Patent and Trademark Office website, Google has outlined systems and methods to develop personality in a robot.
The filing, dated March 31, would give a robot access to a device "to determine or identify information about a user." From there, a tailored personality would be created to interact with the user based on the user's own data.
In addition to forming a custom personality, the robot would also pull data associated with identifying a user, through speech or facial recognition systems. This data could then be shared via the cloud, which would allow the personality to be transferred from robot to robot.
