Author George R.R. Martin isn't writing a Game of Thrones season 6 episode, but he is working on developing an entirely new show with HBO.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the potential series, Captain Cosmos, takes place in 1949 and revolves around a daring young science fiction writer who spends his time crafting stories no one else would attempt to write. Michael Cassutt (Z Nation) is attached to write the pilot.
Though still in the early stages, Captain Cosmos isn't expected to be a time-consuming project for Martin, who ducked out of several appearances to focus on The Winds of Winter, the sixth installment in the Song of Ice and Fire series. The novel won't be out this year, but fans can check out a second chapter from the book, posted on the author's website.
