Japanese Company Sculpts Geeky Ice Cubes IGN All

Using a technology similar to 3D printing, a Japanese company has created some amazing ice cube sculptures.


Created to help sell Suntory Whisky, AdWeek reports these statues were made using of a chilled CNC router drilling into small chunks of ice. An application called Autodesk 123D captured the images and rendered them into 3D models for the router to sculpt.


The ice cubes took many different forms, including Godzilla, Mario, a guitar, the Sphinx, and Batman. Check them out in the slideshow below.


3D printing techniques have been used for a number of different marvels, including removing brain tumors, making food, and creating artificial limbs.
