PlayStation Home is gone. It's not an April Fools' Day joke; this has been a long time coming.
Despite PlayStation Home being a "commercial success," according to nDreams CEO Patrick O'Luanaigh, the virtual world's inevitable shutdown was announced last September.
"My feeling is one of sadness," O’Luanaigh said last year. "Not because Home is closing, but because Sony doesn’t appear to appreciate what an incredible experiment PlayStation Home was."
PlayStation Home, launched in 2008, was an online virtual world meant as a social hub of sorts for PlayStation 3 users.
