Fantastic Four #2 Review IGN All

James Robinson’s debut of Fantastic Four was a pleasant, if not dour, start of a brand new saga for Marvel’s First Family. Issue #2 continues to threaten the team with a not-so-happy future, but gosh darn it if it isn’t entertaining! More than that though, the proceedings are presented in a glossy cinematic fashion that works to elevate every element of the story thus far.

The Fantastic Four have gone through quite a bit together as a family, and some of that history is coming back to bite them in a big, if so far inexplicable, way. Reed Richards is uncharacteristically dumbfounded early on in this issue, which leads to a great deal of action, superheroics, and destruction. Although the source of the creatures is definitely a fun and interesting head-scratcher, the creatures themselves are a bit run of the mill.
