Hawkeye #17 Review IGN All

We are almost a year and half into Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye, or Hawkguy, as us fans lovingly call it. During this time, Fraction has trained us to expect something exceptionally different. This book has always been something other than a straightforward superhero action/adventure tale, but issue #17 manages to be even more esoteric than usual. The results are pure (belated) holiday gold.

This issue is unexpected for many reasons, but what isn’t unexpected is the high caliber of writing and artistry on display. The framework of this issue is delightfully absurd, and what is at its core is no less than the deep character study that has helped to make this book a must read each month. There are many laugh-out-loud moments to be found in this issue as well. These moments are distinctly “Hawkeye” and land perfectly even in less than traditional surroundings.
