All right, finally, we're on the road to somewhere. I'm not sure where, but somewhere.
The aptly-titled "Wrong Roads" put together a lot of little pieces, threw them in a pot, and served what came out. It turned out to be a solid episode, one that brought together all of the dire straits of each character.
While it's taken this long to get the Crowe family actively involved in the messes of the Harlan drug business, it's finally starting to pay off. "Wrong Roads" actually saw the actions of the show bounce off one another. Boyd, at the end of his rope, threatened Daryl. Daryl bullied Kendal. The emotional impact of the main plot caused ripples, leading to dynamic action! It didn't cut the story short or prevent it from moving forward! Hooray! Wendy was behind that sort of pinballing action earlier in the season, but those items mostly resolved themselves. Raylan went after the family. Wendy protected the family from Raylan. New development next week. This time, without Wendy there to stop Daryl from harming the family, Daryl got himself into big trouble and he knew it by the end of the episode.
