DC and Warner Bros. threw down the gauntlet when earlier this year they moved their Batman/Superman film to May 6, 2016, a date an unspecified Marvel film had already claimed. And now we know what film that is, and which Marvel hero will face off against DC's World's Finest: Captain America.
Yep, Captain America 3 will open against Batman/Superman (a.k.a. Man of Steel 2) on May 6, 2016.
The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop, while also pointing out that things could change between now and then as “shooting schedules and post-production could always impact the current blueprint.” Still, Marvel boss Kevin Feige told our own Jim Vejvoda the following yesterday: “We're still on that date and we're going to be announcing soon what the movie will be on that date. That's what we're sort of actively working on as we get ready to firm up and get into pre-production what will be the two films for '16 and the two films for '17.”
