Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow. You've been warned!
It seems the consensus among even the most die-hard Fringe fans was that last week's episode was a bit disappointing. But this week, Fringe was in rare form with a shocking turn of events that injected much-needed excitement back into this final season.
The action gets started quickly with Peter risking his life just to go out and buy a new necklace for his daughter. The scene is interesting, and the Jamaican shopkeeper adds a lot of flavor to the story. The opening also places the first link in a chain of thematic events that focus on the Observer mind-reading ability which is important to the rest of the episode. So this was definitely a good start and it was nice to see Peter handling things on his own again.
