Things aren't looking very bright for cult comic book hero The Crow in Hollywood these days. Following a string of forgettable sequels, the long-gestating reboot film from writer/director Stephen Norrington has yet to get off the ground. But the good news is that this supernatural avenger is doing pretty well for himself in the comic book world. IDW has acquired the license to the franchise and has already started publishing new material and reprinting classic Crow stories.
IDW announced a new Crow mini-series today. What makes this announcement unusual, however, is the fact that it's being written and drawn by James O'Barr. O'Barr created the character in the original series published by Caliber Comics in 1989. Though O'Barr has allowed other creators to continue the Crow saga in recent eyars, he's diving back into this world with a new mini-series titled The Crow: Skinning The Wolves.
