A brief note for all of you PlayStation 3-gaming readers out there. PlayStation has silently announced a firmware update rolling out tonight. If you’re keeping track, this is update 4.31.
This firmware update won’t “affect online play and access to apps” and does not signal PSN maintenance. Additionally, it’s not a mandatory update, though it’s designed to “improve overall system stability” and is thus recommended by Sony.
Firmware update 4.31 comes on the heels of the much more substantial update 4.30, which unified PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita Trophies, as well as began the closure of Life With PlayStation, among other things.
