All-New X-Men #2 Review IGN All

Time travel is a popular story tool at Marvel these days. Like other stellar series on the shelves, All-New X-Men's opening arc is heavy on the repercussions of visiting the past. The premise is fun and -- since this is a Brian Bendis comic -- the dialogue is superb when X-Men from the past meet X-Men from the present. All-New X-Men is a damn good time and a great start to a new era in the X-Universe.


To be blunt, this is a very talky issue. The bulk of these pages feature characters standing around talking about what they could do, whether they should do certain things, and what would happen if they did said things. If you are a fan of Bendis' dialogue, you'll enjoy yourself. If you think Bendis books often feature too many talking heads and not enough people in tights punching each other, you'll no doubt be a little bummed on this issue. Still, when the dialogue and characters are this good, I say let them talk. It's good stuff and gives weight to the inevitable confrontation coming down the road.
