Boardwalk Empire: "Two Imposters" Review IGN All

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...


Before I get into the Kipling quote about how man's obsession with winning and losing creates an unhealthy imbalance of the psyche, causing one to misalign priorities and seek validation down ignoble avenues...


...HARROW HAS ALL THE GUNS!!!


Oh, sweet heavens, I can't wait for the finale now. And for Harrow to carve a canal of blood through Gillian's whorehouse. And just when I thought Gillian might actually turn to Harrow for his expertise, given her new predicament and all. But, as it turns out, she trusts more in her ability to manipulate Gyp (probably too much) than wrangle Richard, and now there's no way this thing can ever be solved diplomatically. And yes, Harrow's dream to create a new life with Julia and Tommy was sweet, but now we get to see the dark side of it. The part where he kills a ton of people to try and create his new Franken-family. From an audience perspective, as much of a butcher as Harrow is, seeing Tommy wind up with a woman as demented as his grandmother is definitely the worst case scenario. Harrow's a "bad guy," but he's a TV killer; wherein he only slaughters those who we want to see taken down. And he does it out of a devotion to the virtue of friendship and loyalty. Or at least, he does now.
