Demon Knights #14 showcases all the stuff that makes this series so wonderful. It's funny, epic and intriguing. You'll get to last page and wish the next issue was in your hands already. The only major bummer about this issue is that it is one step closer to Paul Cornell's departure from the series, and that is some seriously depressing news.
Cornell is bringing his storyline to an epic finish here. This issue more setup than anything, but it's still fun stuff. The Demon Knights plan their escape from Hell and as you can probably imagine, there are some serious consequences for opening a portal down there. Cornell showcases his usual flair for character and once again deftly handles this book's large cast. That's no small feat and something that other writers often struggle with. Hopefully, without Cornell, Demon Knights will be able to keep up its relentless pace and sound structure. Fingers crossed.
