Red Dwarf: "Dear Dave" Review IGN All

The penultimate episode in the tenth series of Red Dwarf was a somewhat melancholy affair, with ‘Dear Dave’ finding the ever-chirpy Lister strangely introspective from the outset.


But the destruction of your entire species will have that effect on even the jolliest of Scousers, and Dave kicks off the episode missing his fellow man and, more seriously, the fairer sex.


Driven by loneliness, Lister finds himself hitting on one of the Red Dwarf’s talking vending machines, with predictably disastrous results.


The powers that be, meanwhile, discover that Rimmer hasn’t reported for duty for more than 3m years, and so to prevent a demotion to 3rd technician on the ship, the hologram endeavours to prove himself unfit for duty due to post-traumatic stress.
