Even though you may not realize it, you’ve probably heard James Arnold Taylor’s voice. The talented actor is behind the microphone playing well known characters such as Johnny Test and Obi-Wan Kenobi (in Star Wars: The Clone Wars), but he also steps into the role of announcers for promos and commercials, acts as a voice double for actors such as Johnny Depp, and appears in tons of video games, including his ongoing role as Ratchet in the Ratchet & Clank series. As Taylor points out, the catch with voice actors is that if they do their jobs right, people don’t think about it. But I think we should.
The cartoons we watch and video games we play wouldn’t be what they are without voice actors bringing the characters to life, and their careers extend far beyond those two categories. We recently spoke with Taylor about his one man show, what he loves about being a voice actor, and about the current season of Clone Wars.
