Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan took what seemed to be a random detour into the Bronze Age of the Marvel Universe with Deadpool #7. But as it turns out, Deadpool's antics in the '70s have a direct bearing on the events of their second full-length story arc. The result is an enjoyable romp for the Merc With a Mouth, but one that still suffers from the same flaws as the "Dead Presidents" storyline.
There are two significant status quo shifts with this issue. The first is that Tony Moore has been replaced by new artist Mike Hawthorne. Considering that Hawthorne assisted Moore on the later issues of Fear Agent, there isn't much in the way of a stylistic shift. Hawthorne's work doesn't boast the same refined sense of detail as Moore, but in terms of zany expressiveness and cartoonish action, the series is very much on track.
