Boxee has faced an uphill battle in the set-top box market, going head-to-head with the likes of Apple TV and Roku. Recent reports have claimed the small company was actively seeking a purchaser, and according to a post from AllThingsD, Korean electronics giant Samsung has stepped up to the plate. An earlier report from The Verge on Wednesday claimed the deal was valued at $30 million.
