American Horror Story: "The Replacements" Review IGN All

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...


Business started to pick up on American Horror Story: Coven this week with "The Replacements" - which saw Fiona directly deal with both her quest for youth and the next-gen Supreme in one fell swoop. It was a smart play to have Madison be the actual real Supreme and not just a red herring, as well as have the story handled sooner than later. Because a "Who is the Next Supreme?" mystery could drag ass all season, with most of us assuming Zoe, the panicky newcomer, would be the one to usurp Fiona's diva throne.


In fact, given that I don't know how all the Surpreme rules work, Zoe could still step in eventually. Right? I don't know. They said there was one per generation. As in, if this generation's Supreme dies, there's no more? But going by Buffy the Vampire Slayer rules though, there could be another waiting in the wings. Who knows? What I wonder about the most now though is what effect (accidentally?) killing Madison will have on Fiona. The younger Supreme (as we saw in Fiona's own 1971 flashback) literally slowly sucks the health out of the elder. Hence, Fiona's terminal cancer. Is she cured now though? Or will she still be on the hunt for immortality?
