Following an early debut on YouTube (albeit in censored form), Starz launches their new pirate-themed series Black Sails tonight, Saturday, January 25th, at 9pm. Black Sails comes from creators Jon Steinberg (Human Target, Jericho) and Robert Levine, with the pilot episode directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent, Doomsday and Game of Thrones' epic "Blackwater" episode), and marks the first TV series to be executive produced by Michael Bay. The story mixes real life pirates with fictional ones, centering on the Treasure Island character Captain Flint (Tobey Stephens), decades before the events of that legendary novel.
