Community fans excited about the return of Dan Harmon to the series got a surprise while watching the Season 5 premiere – the return of Chevy Chase as well. Well, okay, it was just a single-scene cameo, where Pierce appeared as a hologram. But still, given the constant tales of behind-the-scenes drama involving Chase, both with and without Harmon, which culminated in his hasty departure in Season 5, seeing Chase at all on Community was notable.
