With just under 2 million in combined digital and print sales (but mostly digital), there’s little reason to believe you haven’t heard of DC’s Injustice: Gods Among Us by writer Tom Taylor. For the three people who might not know, the comic spins out of the DC fighting video game of the same name, showing an increasingly hellish world where Superman has gone off the deep end and Batman, along with fellow insurgents, must stop him, or die trying.
After a brief hiatus, the series is back with Injustice: Year Two. With a big death punctuating the end of the first year’s worth of stories, it seems like things are only going to get worse. Death is permanent in this comic, so there’s a bit more weight to it than in normal comics where a resurrection is all but guaranteed. Taylor has hinted that the scale of the story will grow outside Earth due to heavier involvement of the Green Lantern Corps and their signature nemesis, Sinestro.
